I have been trying to to come up with a idea to write about. And I have finally decided to write about finances.
Lets talk (or should say write ) about finances for a moment. We all know the struggle of paying bills and we all have different struggles with them and we all have different of opinions of when and how to pay them off and we should not judge each other how we pay our bills. I say this as I was judged by some people in a Dave Ramsey group once because I made the choice of going thru a debt settlement company to help with some of our bills (mostly my credit card bills and some loans and doctor bills). I was called lazy because that is something I wanted to do but it is not being lazy. It is asking for help.
Okay with saying all that I want to write about the ugly truth of credit cards. They do not tell you the ugly truth of them ( at least not right now. It is in some ways in the fine print that most people over look when reading the contracts. Yes, credit cards are kind of like a contract.) The way that the credit card companies get you to get a credit card is telling you that it will help you with your credit. It will help gain a good credit score and the better your score the money you can get on your card over time. But what they do not tell you is the ugly truth of credit cards is that it can ruin your credit. They do not tell you that once you start using that credit card it is like a miss step on stairs and you start tumbling down. You spend and spend until your card is maxed out and your monthly payment is high and you start to get behind as you get credit card after credit card and have bills on top of bills and you start to feel like you are drowning in bills. No one will tell you all that. Even some people gets ashamed that they are in this position that they do not want to talk about.
The truth is that is not really the credit card companies place to tell you all that. It is not their place to pay your bills for you. Once that card gets in your hand and you start using it. It is your responsibly. Yes, I wish someone had told me the ugly truth when I got my first credit card but then again I probably wouldn't have listen to anyone. I think once we all become adults we have done gotten tired of people telling her about things that we do not want to listen anymore. I can honestly say that I was careful with my uses of the credit card at first but over time I got use to having it in my wallet and using it to buy things that I probably did not need. And now here I am using a debt settlement company to help me.
So there you go the ugly truth of credit cards. I hope you are like some of the lucky ones that do not struggle so hard on paying your bills. I hope and pray that you are never miss a payment. I also hope and pray that you do not judge others on how they chose to pay their bills.
