Our Christmas

Merry Christmas a  day late. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas/Holiday. We had a wonderful despite all the rain and flooding that we had. We hope that everyone who has been effected by the flooding or the storms that has happened over the last couples days are all right.
Are you wondering how our Christmas was. I am about to tell you haha.

On Christmas Eve we got up and Mike went to work. Then he came home at lunch and we open a our Christmas Eve gifts and then went out to lunch. After lunch Mike had to return to work and Jelly Bean and I came home and just enjoyed some time together. She did get a little cranky because daddy was at work and not at home haha. She helped Mommy decorate two cakes and make some cookies for Santa. She went to bed and then Santa came for a visit and bought her all kinds of goodies.

Christmas morning we woke up and came down stairs to bunch of gifts for Jelly Bean. We helped her open her gifts up. She got a little bear that crawls, a care bear, a toy lunch box, a toy laptop, a princess book, clothes, a toy cellphone, and a picnic basket that will help her learn shapes and etc.. Then after helping her open her gifts she helped mommy and daddy open their gifts. After gifts was opened we ate breakfast and then got ready to visit family. Good thing we did get my parents house when we did because the roads started flooding pretty good.

We did not let the weather stop us from having a wonderful Christmas. Mike and I's most wonderful and favorite thing about Christmas was spending it with Jelly Bean.

We hope you all had a wonderful day.

How the time flies

Oh how the times flies by. This time last year we was getting asked if we would adopt our beautiful Jelly Bean and we said yes of course lol. Now she is 5 months old and growing like a weed.  She weighs about 13lbs and is about 24 1/2 inches long. She has almost mastered the rolling over, not completely but she is getting there. She tries to get on her knees when you put her on your tummy for tummy time. She loves drinking for a sippy cup. ( Her favorite is sweet tea and before you say anything she doesnt get sweet tea all the time). She enjoys eating solid foods. I think sweet potatoes and peas are her favorites.
She will hold things in her hand and she also enjoys playing in her jumper bouncer like thingy. I have no idea what they are called. She can sit up by herself for a few seconds at a time. She also doesnt like to sit if you are holding her. She wants to stand up. She is eating anywhere from 6 to 8oz of milk each time she gets a bottle. She does eat about twice in baby food every other day. We feed her solids every other day to make sure she isnt going to have a reaction to any of it. But she will eat the whole jar of baby food. She makes the cutest noises when she is eating baby food. When she really loves one kind she will get louder. It is so cute.
She loves story time. We try to have a hour of story time a day. Right now we are reading a book called Santa and Pete. So far it has been a good story and she seems to enjoy it. She also tries read a long with you. You should hear it. She gets really loud at times and you have to stop reading until she quiets down lol.
She stills sleeps all night long. There is times she will wake up at 3 am wanting a bottle but she mostly wakes up at 6 am and gets a bottle and then she usually goes back to sleep and then get back up at 9am. She times though she will want to play. We usually let her lay between us and play while we get some more sleep. And yes before you ask she is in a safe stop and there is nothing she can get a hold of to get choked on in our bed.
She babbling more and more each day.
All three of us is looking forward Christmas Day.  Our first Christmas as a family of three. We may not have much but we have each other and that is what is going to make this Christmas special for us. Mike and I started this tradition when we first got married to open a gift each on Christmas Eve and we will continue this with Jelly Bean also. Mike will have to work Christmas Eve but that money or sometime before he goes to work we will be opening a gift. I cannot wait to see Jelly Bean with her gift from us. I also cannot wait to see her on Christmas Morning that is going to be a fun day for all of us.
I will try to update you all after Christmas how it all goes.
In the mean time Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas.

Cannot believe it is almost Christmas

I cannot believe it is almost Christmas. So far we have had a pretty good time celebrating the Christmas holiday. Over the weekend we did a lot of fun Christmas activities.
On Saturday morning we got up and got ready to go to  a Christmas market festival. That was pretty fun, even though it was crowded but glad we got there like maybe a hour after it got started. At the Christmas market festival we rode a horse and carriage ride. I think our little Jelly Bean loved it. She was just looking around. Then daddy got on a little train ride able train with Jelly Bean. I think she had fun riding it with daddy. After riding the train we got us some lunch and then went back home for a little bit.
Saturday evening we carried Jelly Bean to her first Christmas parade. It was a okay parade but way too crowded and it just seemed like people was more worried about getting candy then seeing all the beautiful lights. I didnt get many good photos and I couldnt see the parade myself (being a short person is not fun at times lol) I think people should be respectful and teach their kids to be respectful at parades. There was once Mike was going to catch a stuff animal for Jelly Bean and this guy just throws his arms up and knocks it out of Mike’s way. That really pissed me off. It was scary watching how everyone kept pushing out into the road just to get candy. Stand back I promise you the candy will reach you. I have told Mike that we are going to teach Jelly Bean not to worry about the candy as we can always go buy her candy to have. Then after the parade we went and got daddy and mommy something for dinner and then went and got some redbox movie and came home.
On Sunday we got up and went got breakfast and we went to walmart. Jelly Bean loves going to walmart. I was joking around with daddy saying her first word is going to be walmart lol. We mainly went to go get her some more baby food. She has been enjoying eating some solid foods. We came home and did somethings around the house and got ready to go see some christmas lights. There is a park here in our town that sets up christmas lights that you can drive around and see, so we went to that. It was pretty fun. We drove around and seen all the pretty lights first. Then we hoped on the little train there and went around the little lake that the park is named after and seen the lights again. After getting off the train we rode on the horse and carriage ride again. I know for a fact that Jelly Bean loved it last night. The driver of the horse and carriage was just talking away to her. She even tried to give him a fist pound lol. She was smiling and trying to talk to him.
So we had a pretty good weekend celebrating Christmas. We are going to try to think of some more fun things we can do next weekend.
Today since daddy has to work on Christmas Eve we went ahead and took our Christmas photos. I usually wait until Christmas Eve to take some of us but with him having to work on Christmas Eve it was better to take them today. I may upload a family photo of us on here but not to sure. I will talk to Mike about it. In our Christmas photos we had on ugly sweaters, well mommy and daddy did, Jelly Bean had a cute little shirt on. I tell you what though I was wishing I hadnt had the idea of a ugly sweaters christmas photos as it is hot today. The way it feels you would think it was summer. But then again it is part of living in the south  and I would not trade it for anything in the world but I do wish it would feel like winter some lol.
If I dont get to say I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year
If you dont celebrate Christmas then Happy Holidays

It is finalized

The adoption was finalized yesterday. We had our court date of going up in front of the judge and watch her sign the final decree of adoption. Now our little Jelly Bean is officially ours in the law of courts. I can not believe that the long journey of becoming parents is finally over with because now we are parents. Both of us nearly started crying when the judge said she is yours now and congrats. It was such a wonderful day.
We didnt do much of celebrating. We just went out to eat just the three of us and carried Addison to pick out a toy, then came home and watch movies. We really did not have much money to do anything really big to celebrate it this year. But maybe next year when we celebrate our Adoption Day we can take a vacation somewhere. Dont know where yet but we will see.
Jelly Bean is our most wonderful Christmas gift that we have ever received. She is so special to us.

4 months update

Sorry that I am just now doing a 4 months old update. I wanted to wait until our Jelly Bean went to the doctor for her little 4 months checkup. I just want to say this. I love the fact that they get our Jelly Bean in and out at the doctor office. Her appointment was at 8:15 this morning and we probably wasnt even there not even 5 minutes before they called her back to the patient room. I guess we was probably there for about 30 to 40 minutes all together. (and you know that most doctor visits lasts longer then that lol ). Our Jelly Bean weighs 12lbs and 11ozs. ( I think our scales must be wrong or something because when we put her on our scales she weighed nearly 13lbs. but then again she did have clothes on when we weighed her and the only thing she had on at the doctors office was a diaper lol so that could have made up the difference lol ). She is 24 1/2 inches long. She is growing so fast. I just can not believe it.
She has started eating baby food this week. On Saturday she had half of a jar of carrots, on Sunday she had the rest of the carrots. On Monday night she had sweet potatoes and let me tell you she really put the sweet potatoes away. She ate the whole jar on Monday. Then on Tuesday she had some apples and then last night had the rest of the apples. She sure is a eater lol. I am glad that she is healthy and a good eater. I hope she stays a good eater.
She had her second round of shots today and she did very well with those. When the doctor was examining Jelly Bean, she did not like that. She did not like that a stranger was close to her and that she was laying down. The doctor said that most babies dont start with the stranger crying until like 6 months old. So Jelly Bean is a little ahead.
Okay now for some milestones that we have passed and still working on.
  1. Jelly Bean is talking more and more (we dont understand what she is saying but she is talking up a storm lol ) She will wake up talking.
  2.  Jelly Bean is giggling. It is so cute when she giggles. Like last night she wanted to stay up and play and giggle instead of going to bed. There was one day she just busted out giggling at me. Daddy and I both was sick with food poisoning and we was pretty much staying in bed all day and I was getting back in bed and fell over a little on the mattress and Jelly Bean thought it was very funny lol. It was really good to have heard her laughing that day.
  3.  There was one day a few days ago I had her sitting up infront of me and she actually sit by herself for a few seconds. I was surprised she done it.
  4. She will pick up some of her toys. I notice this Tuesday evening. I had laid her down for some floor time and I looked over and she had reached over and picked up her little ball that is lays in the floor with her.
1. We are still working on rolling over. She has rolled over from her belly to her back like once or twice but she hasnt rolled over from her back to her belly.
That is pretty much all she is still working on right now. Maybe in the next couple of weeks she will be rolling over.
That the update for now. Maybe one day next week I can give another important update.
